Out of curiosity, what is the average cruising speed that you cruise? We cruise Karma at an average of 8 knots.

Between 6.5 and 8 knots. Bring it up to 80% power for 15 min for every two hours of running at low speed.
When I inspect my turbo there is no build up in case you want to know that too.

We find it comfortable at 2400 rpm showing about 6.2 -6.4 knots with a few on board.

Being new with my 21EC I was wondering about this. Once broken in, is it bad for motor to run close to full throttle.? Say outrunning a storm or needing to get to a dunkin dounuts real quick. heh heh.
Just as a comment.....the more I play around with my boat the more I see the quality built in to it. And the thought put in the design. Just love this boat. Cant wait until next trip. Next year the Erie Canal will be my first long trip goal.

Wolf Pack likes somewhere between 7 and 10 knots. If in a hurry, we might go 12 or 13-ish, but the fuel usage there gets a bit pricey.

Shared Dream runs at 12 to 14 knots.

Annelyse goes 12-14 also! ( places to go, things to do!)

I'll run the boat full open occasionally for a minute or two. I do it to clear any build up, to make sure the power is holding and to make a cool stern wave! . Practically speaking, it's a wasting fuel and is intrusively loud at WOT. For me 2400-2600 rpm is ideal. 2000 is even better when I'm not in a hurry.

For us it is truly about the journey not the destination!

In round numbers, we cruise at 8 and 12. Based on current and wind, we can range from 7 to 9.5 at the same RPM (2800 - Cummins 150). Our average speed - everything from dead slow in marinas, 4 knots in no-wake zones, and cruising, is 7.9 mph (6.9 kts).

heh heh being a sailor and just getting my 21 , when it hit 6 knots I was looking for seat belts. Im in no hurry either.
Eric

Here's another x-sailor chiming in. Six and one half to seven knots is our cruising speed on extended cruises (with an occasional run-up to 2800 RPMs or so to blow the carbon out). On shorter runs on the Chesapeake, we been known to hit speeds in excess of eight knots (as long as I have both hands on the wheel)!

We just got home last night from seven days on the Columbia River and averaged a little more than 5 knots over 165 knots of travel. We went up every side stream and slough that we could find to where the water was no longer deep enough for us to travel safely. We normally run at 2000 to 2200 rpm which can give us as much as 9.5 knots down river with the tide going out to 4.8 knots going up river with the tide going out.
We hope to check out our speeds in the Puget Sound later this month.

We run Tutta Bella at around 3200 rpm and get 9 to 12 knots, (as long as her bottom is reasonably clean). WOT adds about 2 knots.
