We put in near Deltaville with suggestion from marina in Deltaville but was not a good solutions. Need to find a deeper angled ramp for getting back on the trailer. Our truck and trailer are stored in Deltaville so that is our starting point. Any recommendations north or south would be greatly appreciated by us and our gelcoat.

We keep our R27 in Urbanna, about 30 minutes from Deltaville by car and a hour north by water depending on speed. There is a ramp at the town marina ((804) 758-5440), but we are at a different marina. I'm not sure about the ramp incline, but a lot of boats use it. You can call and ask, they have a good reputation for being helpful. Good luck!

I am not familiar with ramps in that area, however I would try at high tide. If that doesn’t work and you can’t find an appropriate ramp go to a marina with haul out capabilities I am sure they can get it on the trailer. It will cost you more that a typical ramp fee, but the boat will be on the trailer for the ride home.

I have a C28 and have spent a lot of time driving to various marinas looking for a good ramp, access to the Chesapeake and a place to leave the truck and trailer. I have found several places that have ramps, but most are in poor condition. Here are some options:
Olverson's Lodge Creek Marina - 804 512-6256. I have not checked their ramps out personally but I have talked to them and they said they have had 40 footers launch. They also have areas to store truck and trailer. Talk to Fred or Steven.

Windmill Point Marina - They have a good ramp and you can leave your truck and trailer for $25/day. If you use their slip at $2.75/ft. no charge to leave truck and trailer.

Morningstar Marina - 804 414-8560 The deal with them is that they don't have short term storage for trailer etc., but you can leave your boat and trailer for $100/month. There is a good ramp a short distance away adjacent to The Hole In The Wall restaurant (very good).

Hope this helps,
Bill Gaertner

Smith Point Marina's ramp near Reedville can handle your boat.

Thanks for all the recommendations. We ended up using Olverson's Lodge Creek Marina as recommended. Will definitely use them as our put in and take out on next trip.
