Has anyone had the pleasure of swapping out their forward bilge pump on a 2017 (or similar) R29-CB? Mine is dead (I've checked all other options thoroughly). I had to replace my aft bilge pump, again, today, and checked the forward one and I get nothing on manual or automatic. It looks like I need a very small mechanic to get to that pump as the engine blocks it pretty completely for me. Any tips or tricks out there?

I have a 2017 R29 and I personally took my front pump out to check for debris. It is a pain. I am 5’8” and 180 lbs, age 63. Experiment with the aft pump first. It twists and snaps out. I have two very long needle nose (maybe 11”+, not double jointed pliers) that I use to extend my arms. I think wiring the new one may be worse than removing the old one. The pump mfg actually put their label on the inside of pump next to impeller. Totally stupid since it is stick on label and it came off and partially plugged pump outlet.

Also, the front pump is higher. The bilge needs at least 5-10 gallons more water to go on than the back pump. Dump one or two five gallon buckets in bilge fast before then back pump, pumps it out. You should get a high water alarm if switch on helm is set to alarm. Switch is three way, test, light, and audible alarm.
