Swim step ladder on an older R25

Has anyone replaced the velcro strap holding the swim ladder into the platform with something that does not require replacing frequently like the velcro? We have had our ladder deploy while underway and are afraid it might deploy also when trailering. Any great solutions?

Don`t have a non velcro solution but I was also worried about the swim ladder during trailering especially. I use 2 short velcro bands through the slot in the swim platform to securely fasten the swim ladder. I will be interested to hear if there are other solutions out there

I actually have an idea for this and recently bought a 3d printer so now I can try it out. I'm going to design and print a special latch that screws into the end of the swim platform and rotates to a downward position and clicks in place to keep the ladder from extending. My knees hurt too much to keep trying to reach under the platform to strap the ladder. I'll let you know if it works.
