Friends,

We are proud to be members of the Columbia Riverkeeper. Sometime ago, we contacted them and asked them to let us know if they needed a boat similar to our R25SC to support any of their activities. We received the following e-mail today. We will be out of town during this event and can't participate -- but it sounds like a lot of fun. If any other Portland area tugs are interested, please contact Riverkeeper directly.

Subject: Boats needed for downriver swim

Hi Louise,
You contacted us a while back about your boat, and we are actually looking for boats and drivers to escort some swimmers that are doing a downriver marathon swim on the Columbia. I’m wondering if you might be interested?
The swim will be on Thursday Sept 7. We’re looking for boats that could carry at least 4-5 people. The swim will go down the Columbia through the Columbia Gorge, ending just east of Portland. Teams of swimmers will do the swim relay style, and there will be kayaks to escort the swimmers that are in the river, but we are looking for boats to carry the rest of the swimmers. The Boaters should plan on 6 hours on the water while the swimmers complete the 26.2 mile swim.

If you think you might be interested and available please let me know. Or if you know anyone else with a boat that might like to be involved with this event feel free to forward this email.

Thanks!
Lorri
