Synthetic oil in a Yanmar 260

For the Ranger Tug 29 owners with a Yanmar engine. I thought I would share Yanmar’s recommendations. Here is their response to my inquiry.

Hello and thank you for contacting Yanmar with your kind inquiry.
The correct engine oil to us in your 6BY series engine is the RotellaT 5W40 synthetic.

That's what I use, full synthetic.

Previous owner was using Mobil 1 10W-30 advanced full synthetic, so I have been using the same. Mobil 1 is included in the long list of acceptable oils in the Yanmar Operations Manual for our 6by2-260.
