We have a 2014 R25SC. We recently bought a dinghy motor that weighs about 60 lbs. We installed the motor mounting pad on the cockpit rail so that the motor hangs above the swim step. (the swim step rail appears too unsupported to carry the motor securely) Currently my husband and I muscle the motor off the mounting pad and down to the transom of the dinghy. We also have a propane bottle locker on the swim step so there's not a lot of room for moving from the tug to the dinghy. I fear that we're going to drop the motor in the water some day.
Does anyone have a lift system to raise the motor up to the mounting pad on the rail, and conversely lower it to the dinghy?
We don't have any pulley system on the boat, but I'm willing to install one. We are ex-sailboaters and miss the winch and halyard system that would solve this problem.

I have the exact boat and struggled with the same issue. So I looked for the lightest engine which I found to be 2.5 horse Suzuki which weighs in at 29 pounds. But I still didn't want to mount that thing on the rails. After reading other posts about adding weight so far to the rear of the craft, I then decide to go to an electric motor and chose an EP Paddle. And there are lots of others these days. Run time is an hour which far exceeds the amount of time I need just to get into shore for a walk or to the dingy dock. It weighs in at 11 pounds if I recall and I store in it in the cave and charge the battery when I'm moving.
