I’m 6’6” and looking at purchasing a Ranger R27. Any tall guys (or gals) that own an R27 have any issues?

Well, I'm a relatively tall guy (6'2") in an R27 Classic, and I never feel like I'm close to the overhead in the salon. On the other hand, if you're planning to sleep in the V berth, especially with someone else . . . .

I'm 6'5" and love my Ranger Tug! It's a 29, not a 27, but all the Ranger Tugs have excellent headroom compared to other boats their size.
Unless trailering a lot, you may want to look at the 29 as the island berth forward is roomier than the v-berth in the 27.

Thanks for the input. I like the 27 for it’s tow ability but will look at the 29’s

We have a R27 Classic. Love the boat, and I am 6’4” and fit in the v-birth without issues. My wife is 5 foot which works nicely without conflict in the feet area. It works well for us. The rest of the boat has plenty of clearance for us. A couple of extra inches will certainly push it, but let me know if you want any measurements for the R27 classic.

next time pick the smaller parent. LOL

I have a very tall RT friend and he bought the 27 classic specifically because of the headroom in the head and the V-berth.

I’m 6’3” and I don’t have any issues on our 27. The v-birth is large enough but the only place I would love a little more room is the head because we use shower even if we’re at a marina. The R27 is super easy to tow and launch and no permits are needed. Good luck in your search.

Thank you all for your responses. Looking forward to joining “the family”...if I could just save up enough aluminum cans to get a 27!

I am 6'5 and am comfortable on my R27. I fit nicely at the helm seat. Sleeping in the vberth works fine as well, but I am pushing the limits and can only fit on the port side of the vberth. All works great fine.

I'm 6'6" and I find plenty of head room and sleeping room on my 2011 R-27.
My wife is 5'10" and we have plenty of space in the forward berth. I carry a folding cushion to sleep on the stern in nice weather.
It's nice finally having a boat where I am not always whacking my head on something!

6'3". R27 Classic. No height issues.
