Hi folks,

We are new to this community, acquiring our new Ranger 29 named Spindrift in Mid-september. A couple of website questions:

Does anyone have info on turning off the tapatalk message that appears when navigating this site on an ipad? I have to keep cancelling to make it disappear. I prefer to not use tapatalk. The message appears repeatedly with any activity on the site. It says "This forum has an app for ipad. Click ok to learn more". I'd prefer to not use the app but see no way around it. I spoke with Bruce Moore regarding this and he said he'd contact the admin about it. In the meantime I thought I'd see if anyone else has the same issue. The message also was appearing when on the site using my iphone, but I note has recently stopped appearing.

Also, when I first joined the site, I recall it would log in automatically when I'd revisit it. Now, though I click on "log in automatically" when Logging in, it bumps me off each time after closing and also sometimes while navigating the site.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Dennis,
I have an iPad also and I use Safari the built in browser that comes with it.
When I got the message about the app I said no to downloading it.
Safari works just fine with the web site.

It looks like there are several tugs in Portland now.
Last year May through October I lived aboard the Molly M at Hayden Bay Marina.
The only other Tug I saw was Bill and his wife from Gig Harbor at Government Island.

Hi Tony,
I also use Safari; however even though I say no to the download, the tapatalk reminder keeps popping up. Hopefully Bruce Moore will get a response from the admin people. It's really annoying to have it keep doing this and odd that I seem to be the only one having the problem.

I've been watching the thread regarding a Portland Tug meet-up so I'm aware there are a few other kindred spirits around. There is another 29 at CRYC named Seajay, and I know them well. Hope we meet on the river someday if you are still in these parts.
Thanks
Denis

I use Tapatalk on my iPhone and find it extremely useful.

The Accounts slide out panel shows the various web forums I/you participate in.

Using Tapatalk I can see who's logged in, what activity they are pursuing such as "Composing private message" and using Tapatalk. For example, right now "Crewdog" is using Tapatalk.

Tapatalk is very easy to use IMO. It's a fun and colorful App.

Goto http://www.tapatalk.com for a full description... and navigate to the "Tapatalk Support" section to see if there's a solution for your issue.

Love Tapatalk. Great app.

Tapatalk crashed today when being used on my iPhone 5

Barry, Tapatalk just came out with an updated version of the app. I updated yesterday. Was it the newest one that crashed? If so, they may have some new bugs to work out. If it was the older version, try the upgrade. Perhaps it will fix the problem for you.

Gin: Yes, I was using version 2.0.2 per my computer data /Volumes/LaCie Thunder/iTunes Music/Mobile Applications/Tapatalk 2.0.2.ipa

I don't see I can view the version number using the actual App on my iPhone 5 though, so had to goto my computer to find it as shown above.

I also note that when Tapatalk is launched it complains with the following. Not sure if this is a Tapatalk or the Tugnuts web site issue, so will send the issue to Bruce.

It seems to only happen when first launching Tapatalk after initial install. No matter, the issue should be reported.

Barry, I get the same message. I've been getting it for about the last month or so, since the last version of the app. Maybe it's something Bruce knows about. Bruce?

Unfortunate the new API doesn't support backward compatibility. I'll submit an update request to our developer.

Thanks for your patience.

Cheers,

Bruce

Eureka! I fixed my tapatalk problem myself. Yesterday I powered the Ipad completely off, then went to settings/safari, turned on the "always allow cookies", dumped all cache history, and turned on private browsing. The tapatalk reminder no longer appears! I have no idea which of the above corrected the problem. But who cares......
Thanks for all your comments.

Unsure if the iPhone has the same feature. I'll have to look . . .
