Teak and Holly Cabin Sole Lifting On All Edges

I have just purchased a leftover 2014 Cutwater 26 in NJ and the Teak /Holly Cabin Sole throughout on all edges is lifting up / not adhered ...

Please Advise what other adhesive is recommended as the first stuff didn't work very well and is void in all of the areas.

I wonder why the dealer would not be the one to step up here and make this right. I would call Ranger Jeff M. and they would probably send you some adhesive to cure your problem. Maybe it's just me but the dealer ought to be doing the labor. Or if they for what ever reason aren't up to the task, pick some one who is and see if the factory will pickup the costs.

I wonder if it was exposed to a lot of moisture at some point. I remember hearing about a similar problem in a R29. This was a charter boat and the thinking was that some of the guests had let the floor get wet for an extended period of time. I think that Ranger took care of the problem in any case.

Hey there Eric,

I have seen this happen a few times. I don't think there is any moisture problems but we use a marine urethane sealant / adhesive to re-secure the edges and then weight it down until that sealant cures. I will also call Don from Winters and make sure someone follows up with you.

My R29 did the same thing both in the salon and stateroom. Glued it back down. So far so good

Mine is worse. I need to replace it. I found that unbeknownst to me when using the sink water can roll down the open area between the fiddles right by the propane sensor/switch and hit the floor and then roll under the plywood. Major discoloration and de-laminating of the plywood. I just made up a template and I am deciding on what to use to replace it. A sheet of the teak & holly plywood is $320.00, UGH! I am looking for a viable alternate. The simulated teak is pretty authentic looking, but not thick enough. The issue is the edges on the insert should be sealed and then a caulk bead to ensure water does not get underneath the plywood should it run down there.
