Teething Problems

Hello,
We own a R27 2011 with a Yanmar engine which is the 4BY2 180HP, with 290 hours.
An alarm has been going off exactly at 3000 rpms. At that point the engine loses power and we have to shut it down and re-started to disengage the alarm.
After we do that the boat starts again and has no issues from 0 to 2900rpms.
We have checked oil pressure, temperature, voltage and all related readings are within normal parameters.
At one point we thought the vacuum hose was the problem which we replaced. We also checked oil and coolant levels but none of those seem to be the problem.
Now we suspect it could be some kind of sensor but don't know where to go from there.
Do you have any suggestions as to what we need to do and is there a way to check the engine monitor for codes. If so, can you please tell us how to check that?
We appreciate your assistance with this

Don't know what sensors are on that engine, but a dirty fuel filter will cause it to stall out like that.
