Has anyone installed a satellite dish on their tug. I have a Ranger 25 which I just installed a KVH antenna on. I've run the antenna wire into the cubby holes above the helm. Now I have to figure out how to run the wires up to the dish receiver and the direct tv receiver. One needs 12 volts the other 110. Can anyone tell me how they ran their wires and can a handyman kind of guy do it by himself. Thanks for any info
Jeff

I don't have an R-25, but depending on where you terminate will depend on where you will run the wires. To get the antenna wire to the mast you will have to remove the head liner in the cabin and just follow the route of the other wires. This is not an easy job because you will also have to loosen the outside cover. And be sure to reseal all the screw holes securing the cover. You will also have to get a 110 lead and outlet to wherever your receiver is. I would take the power from the outlet you may have near your galley table. The snaking of wires is going to be the most difficult part.

This is why when we travel we stick to DVD's and the over the air antenna. I have to say, my Spanish has gotten much better since watching the QUOBO station.

Thanks Knotflying: I have the antenna mounted and the wire run into the above head chart cubby holes. Now I just have to run 12 volt and 115ac to same location.

We put a KVH (M3) antenna on our boat in 2012. You can look at our photo album and see how it was mounted and where we put Directv box in the boat.
We love it.

Thanks Bob for the response. I tried to open your pictures of your install and when I did it said this album is empty. If you still have them I would like to see them.

Hi Jeff,
Did you go to the Nellie Too album? I just looked at it. I think it is page 19 of the album and on page 3 within mine. The cable was run through where the Radar and GPS cables are routed.

Thanks Bob: I did find the pictures. My install is going to be a little more complicated on the 25 as I don't have the room you have. I'm still looking for ideas on where to mount the tv. I'm leaning toward an articulated arm in the palatial state room that I can swing out into the cabin. Have you seen any installations like this.
Jeff

Jeff,
Some of my friends with a 25 minted their TV in the v-berth on the head wall on the port side. They usually watch TV in there and have their heads at the bow.
