Subject: The lure of a Ranger Tug
I had my previous R-25 (Classic) for close to 6 years and kept it moored in a Marina year round. When down at the boat other boaters strolling by would always stop and chat wanting to know more about the Ranger Tug and offered numerous compliments during their stays.
So today, I now keep our new Ranger gray R-21EC at home in my driveway. It's on one side in the circular driveway and hidden from the road for the most part, yet visible when walking or driving by. It's been in the driveway for barely 4 days and I've had at least 6 enquiries about the boat. Two were from my immediate neighbours who just love the boat, one of which kayak-ed all the way from Seattle to Alaska and another who has a 38-foot metal hull sailboat moored over in Georgia/Brunswick and who's sailed all around up and down the west coast and through the Panama Canal to the East coast. The sailor was disappointed I did not have AIS... Both have engaged me in long chats about the R-21EC. The sailor is intent on selling his 38 foot sailboat which he paid $100,000 for back in mid 90s (used), and now is wanting to buy a R-21EC as he feels/knows his sailing days have come to an end. The sailor chap made a guess at the price for the R-21EC and came up with $80K to $100K..... Woweeeee. I told him he was too high... and left it at that.
Besides these two neighbors I've had 4 other enquires by people walking by and one who even took the trouble to come to my front door and wanted to know all about this new boat addition to the neighborhood.
These people are simply gob-smacked by the looks and quality of this R-21EC and all have at least a 100 questions. 😀
So, I've not got away from being pestered (nicely of course) at the Marina and now this same situation continues at my home port. 😉 I reckon, if I were to put a "For Sale" sign on our new R-21EC it would be sold within a day.
