Good Morning All,

Just put a deposit on a R23D.

It has had minimal use (only 55 Hours on the Diesel).

All in Fresh Water

No Bottom Paint

Toilet, Microwave, plumbing, refrigerator, oven, etc...have all never been used.

Professional commissioned and decomposition every spring and fall.

When not in use, it is stored in a heated building.

Like the diesel for the higher power alternator. Plan to install LI batteries and an inverter to run the AC/Heat while underway.

Pristine inside. One would think it brand new.

Any worries on a boat seeing this little use? Plan to have a full survey and all systems tested.

Good call on the Survey! If taken care of it would not worry if survey is good. I would also get a mechanical survey usually is not included in the standard marine survey. What year ?

Thanks.

Will do on the mechanical Survey.

It is a 2017. My understanding is that was the only year they made the R23D. Given the popularity of the R23 OB, my understanding is they only built 5 of these. This was my one hesitation, it is sort of a Unicorn.

Most like the 23 for its speed. But hard to beat a diesel for efficiency. One thing I would consider is if you are going to work on it yourself, is ensure you can access the motor easily. Some of the smaller boats with diesels are almost impossible to get too some of the common maintenance items unless your a contortionist.

Thanks for the reply!

I was surprised. The engine compartment, while tight, did not look too bad. Yes I will be doing my own maintenance.

This is a moderately high power Diesel (170 HP). Read articles that say it will push it at about 33 MPH.
