throttle only button and DC heater switch

As a new owner of a 2020 R31-CB a couple of questions:

Can someone explain the throttle only function on the shift/throttle?

Also is the DC heater switch for the Webasco heater?

Never used it on a 31. On my 25 it allows you to run the engine up without it shifting into gear. Pull the throttle back to neutral and it resets so that advancing the throttle again will shift it into gear and throttle up.

No information in the heater switch.

On a 31 or 29 with the starboard helm door the throttle only switch is very important for those occasions you egress from the Captains chair through the helm door with the engine at idle.

If you egress while the engine is running at idle be very careful to not bump the throttle aft, if you do bump the thottle and it is not in throttle only mode, the boat will accelerate in reverse possibly causing damage or throwing you overboard. If you want to egress through the helm door with the engine idling, be sure to set the throttle only switch!

Sounds like the throttle question is answered.

WRT to the heater switch on the DC Panel: On my R31, not related to the Webasto. The DC panel switch gives power to the Heatercraft (AKA Bus Heater) that warms the cabin using the heat from the engine. Unless it is switched on, the blower switch at the helm, (rotary switch right by your left knee) will not be operable. I frequently forget to flip the DC panel switch and when my special lady friend says she's cold, I have to go back and turn it on to get it running. Sometimes the heat coming from that unit smells a little bilgy for my sensitive nose though.

I've done this before when I had my old batteries. Just rev it up to 800-900 RPMs and let it run for 30 mins and you'll have some more juice and hot water.
