I’m going to have a thru-hull depth transducer installed this spring and I’m wondering where best to place it. I’m looking at a traditional type Airmar B619 or B117. I was thinking that it could go just aft of the current bonded in transducer that is on the starboard side of the tunnel near the transom possibly but I’m not sure if there is enough flat surface area for the 3” outer flange to mount against. Any suggestions on this? Thanks!

Hello,

Would look at putting it under the galley cabinets, by one of the seacocks, or aft of the other transducer. We haven't installed a thru-hull transducer.

Jared, It looks to me like under the galley is the best location as it’s away from the propeller and further forward which is good for what’s coming up ahead. The deadrise there looks to be about 17deg. Is the hull cored there or solid fiberglass? Thanks.IMG_2521.jpeg

It is made of fiberglass and core matt.
