My stern thruster keeps blowing fuses. I believe it is because of the previous owner buying cheap fuses. We will see. However, in researching this problem I discovered that Side-Power's electrical spec sheet for Model 35 gives a nominal current draw of 245 amps and then follows with a recommended fuse of 150 amps. Why would you have a fuse of 150 amps for something that draws 245??? I checked my thrusters and both were at about 230.
I'm puzzled.

I just got through speaking to Side power Tech. he said the anl fuses are slow burning and the amp rating is on initial start up and then drops. He concurs with my theory about cheap fuses. his name was Miles and was very nice. If problem continues after using side power fuses to call him back.

Good information. For the record, what number did you call to reach Miles?

Side Power/ Miles - 508-995-7000
