Perfect timing!!
I pulled in to my slip a few days ago, there was a frisky NE of about 20.. no problemo!!! got my able bodied mate (me wife!) aboard to help... and will activate the thrusters and remote just in case... (note: I have a 2018 R31 that I have been intentionally practicing all the "single inboard maneuvering techniques of yore" without thrusters just in case !)...
No huge problem.... but got her in the slip, she's in neutral, 1st Mate up at the bow doing fine... I run back to the stern to do that line, when of course a puff comes up to shove the stern away !!! No Problemo !! got my trusty thruster remote around my neck!!! push the button!! no reaction !!! Yikes.... fortunately had time to run to the helm and do it from the fixed controls....
Tested the remote, best guess was dead batteries... however boat is "only 2 seasons old" !!! How could the batteries be dead?? Hardly ever used it !!! Turned it over, and there on the back it says " Change battery yearly !" (Including the exclamation point...)
Hmmmmmmm .... Guess I will from now on !!!
By the way, you need a tiny, T6 size, Torx screwdriver... Do not try with anything else... (available at HD and Loews)
and 2- CR2032 wafer type batteries...
Also... did NOT need to "re-program" anything...
Happy Docking !!!
