I just wanted to share.....I recommend going throughout the boat and tightening everything up, inside and out. I did this almost a year ago when I took delivery of my 2016 C26. I just spent an hour going through the boat again, and several screws had backed out significantly over that time. I was definitely surprised a bit, but totally understandable as to why.

That's all.......

Especially check the nuts on any power/ground/bonding bus. I had an issue with the windlass that would cut out when retrieving the anchor. After following the wiring from the windlass to the switch at the helm, I discovered a couple nuts very loose on the grounding bus behind the helm. Cheers. -Norm

Nearly a year later, and I'll bump this cause I just went through tightening screws again. If you haven't done it, take an hour and get it done. You will be surprised at how many have backed out a bit and loosened up.

This is a great PSA, which prompts a question from me... From what I can see in the wiring diagram, there are two bus bars somewhere at the "helm" of my C30-CB based on the wiring diagram (both + and -). I do not see them after opening up the mirror in the head. Anyone know where they are and how to access them to check connections?

Unfortunately there is no Locktite equivalent available for conductive applications (and Locktite itself is an insulator).

But, locking washers are your friend! I'm surprised they aren't everywhere. I was very happy to find them on the electrical connections to the thrusters; I don't know if this was a factory install or something a PO added.
