We could use a little help troubleshooting our TECMA toilet. The toilet does not draw water from the raw water intake. When the flush button is pushed we hear a "tick-like" sound similar to a solenoid but no water enters the bowl. Don't hear a pump sound either. From the limited information in the manual, there is no mention of raw water inlet pump being part of the toilet itself. There is only a discharge pump at the base of the toilet. So, where is the raw water pump?
It looks to me like the only way to really access the the hoses and discharge pump on the rear of the toilet is to unbolt the toilet from the floor. But at this point, unless the raw water pump is actually part of the toilet there isn't any point in removing the toilet. There is no obstruction in the raw water strainer. and the raw water flush in the cockpit that is also associated with this strainer is working fine. The discharge on the toilet works fine.

Thanks

What you describe sounds like a problem I have had. Look behind the toilet (may require a mirror). Check to see if there is an electric plug dangling, unplugged. I inadvertently unplugged mine while tightening the nylon bolts on the seat!

If you see that white plug dangling, locate the prongs below it and plug it in. This solved my problem. Good luck.

Are you sure your toilet uses raw water? Ours uses fresh water from the tank, so will not work if the water pressure breaker is off.

I am quite certain that toilet flush comes in through the raw water intake on the starboard side of the boat and we have made no modifications to the plumbing. Since we think we hear a solenoid, but not a pump, I am inclined to think that it is either a primary pump problem or an electrical issue like a faulty connection. An obstruction seems very unlikely with all the raw water flowing through the filter.

I can confirm that the intake is through the starboard side. I was checking the engine and intake filters when someone flushed the head. I got to see first hand water going through filter! I knew that this intake was used for the A/C but hadn't considered that the raw water for the toilet would go through this as well. Sure be nice to have a manual with diagrams (hint hint)...

Have you checked that the stop cock is open on the starboard side? The intake filter is for the A/C and head. I don't believe that other raw water flows it (perhaps the deck wash down?). Unless you've been running A/C it wouldn't be that noticeable if the stopcock was closed.

I have a 2016 Cutwater 30 with, I believe, the same toilet. It uses raw water that is drawn from the rear of the boat via a pump separate from the toilet and goes though a strainer to take out sea weed etc.., I would check the strainer first, If you don't know you have one it's probably clogged. Mine is on the starboard side of the aft engine compartment. the raw water pump for the toilet is right there as well, have the first mate try flushing while you're back there, should be able to hear it running. If it isn't I believe it runs off the DC side of the electric system, check fuses/breakers.
