Has anyone tried towing a dinghy with a C28? How much does it slow you down?

Never did it, but if you are worried about getting slowed down you may want to consider a different method to carry your dingy. Anyone I have seen towing is going slow. Maybe 7.5 to the most 8 KTS. Maybe someone else has a different experience. Also a hard bottom V a soft bottom will make a difference.

I experimented with towing an 8ft inflatable with soft bottom. It tended to fill with water from the wake spray. I had to pay out plenty of line to keep it on the forward edge of the second stern wave. It did ok at 17knots but I wasn't very comfortable with it. I didn't notice any degradation in performance. I think I'll keep it on the davits.

As stated less about speed decrease more about stability and "is it still there?" worries

i installed a takacat on the weaver davits. why?
its light
high performance for an all inflatable
if I have to tow it has a open transom that means water just flows out the back
it tracks well as a catamar

if you are towing a heavier dinghy like a boston whaler just get the length of the tow rope correct.
