Thinking about buying an R29 but have received some disturbing info regarding towing. Does anyone have advice. Is it a big hassle. Permits, class A license, etc... Need to move the boat I'm looking at from Southern Calif. to Washington.
Any advice would greatly appriciated.
Thanks,

Jon

Hi Jon, welcome.

This thread will give you information discussed on this forum about towing R29

For occasional moves, consider using a boat transport service. Some R29 owners save the cost of a tow vehicle and trailer by doing this.

Good Luck

The process to get the permits and the trailering were not the issue for us. The reason we went with the R-27 was because we don't necessarily plan when we want to be on the move and having to adhere to a schedule mandated by permits didn't meet our lifestyle. If you are just worried about getting you R-29 from point A to point B infrequently then you shouldn't have any issues.

You mentioned a class A license. Not required your Calif. class C is all you need.
