I need to trailer an R29 tug from Tampa FL to Pensacola, and I find that I don't know much about trailering! When I have contacted haulers, they ask "What kind of hull does it have?" Does anyone know how to answer that? Alternately does anyone know where to rent or buy a trailer suitable for an R29, or someone that knows how to move one? I'm not having much luck!

That’s about 430 miles by water from Tampa to Pensacola. If the boat is seaworthy, why not just hire a captain to move the R29 that way? Might be cheaper and a lot less of a hassle.

The hull is a semi-displacement……not a planing such as a Searay V shaped hull or not a displacement like a round hulled sailboat or Kady Krogan….. in between. EZLoader in Florida can help you with new trailers, they are who Ranger Tugs offers when a boat is boat new.

I have a trailer you could borrow. It’s been in storage for a couple of years so would need to be checked out to ensure it’s roadworthy for the trip. Dan McClanahan in Palmetto might be able to help with the tow, or on-water delivery if you choose to take that route. PM me.
