Does anyone have any experience with a trailer tire ramp called Trailer Aid or something similar? My thoughts are that this would be a lot easier to get a tandem trailer up off the ground in order to change a flat then a HD hydraulic bottle jack. Any thoughts or experience?

Jim,

I have one similar that I bought at tractor supply. It is metal and is a ramp on both ends with a concave center. Unfortunately I have had to use it three times and it worked great. I changed my tire in 15 minutes without jacking things up. You can make one out of wood, but I saw it and bought it. Just check if the one you are looking at can handle the load of loaded boat and trailer.

I've had great luck with this on a cattle trailer. Really simplifies getting the flat off the ground.

There is also a polyethylene one that works great. We changed to E Load Range tires for the R-29 using the PE Ramp but to tell the truth a piece of 2x12 Pine works too. I had one in the truck and we just put it under the center tire and pulled up on it. It was enough to get the clearance. Now I just need a battery powered impact tool. Yep, I am lazy when it comes to tire changing.

I have one and could not get it to catch on pavement. Backing the trailer only pushed it away. I gave up and now carry a hydraulic jack - Bill

I had the same problem with it not catching on the pavement. Solution....have someone put their foot against it to hold it in place.
