Trailer Plug

I recently purchased a new Ford Expedition and it has a round trailer wiring harness plug. I have seen an adapter plug that you insert and it has the round plug as well as a flat five pin. Will this work or should I install a seperate harness with a flat five pin on it? Thanks Mark

The adapter will work fine... and way less hassle or expense of another harness.

You can buy the adapter plug for less than ten bucks at most auto parts stores.

At a camping trailer dealership I found a round adapter for our Ram that would fit 2 sizes of flat plugs. I no longer find it necessary to carry two plug in adapters. Because we have two trailers, with each having a different set up, it has made hooking up the lights simpler.
