I need a recommendation for a trailer strap or transom strap (or whatever it's called) for my R27. I bought an EZ Loader a year after my boat so none came with either purchase.
Brand? Length of strap? 1" or 2"?
It will go from the trailer hook (eye) up thru both aft cleats down the other side.
Thanks all.

I’ve bought my straps from http://www.ratchetstraps.com, ie Ratchet Straps USA. For the transom I bought a 2” wide endless strap with stainless hardware. You’ll have to measure the length as I’m not able to now. The ones I got have a hook that I connect to the trailer, run the strap up and thru the transom cleat, over the cockpit and thru the other cleat n down to the trailer frame again where the other piece gets connected to the trailer by the hook and you ratchet the two pieces together. On the bow I have a 1 or 1 1/2 “ ratchet with S hooks. Attach one to bow and one to trailer frame n secure.

Buy a good set of 2” ratchet tie down straps preferably ones made with stainless steel if your going to be boating in salt water. You’ll also need a strap to hold the bow down when trailering. Amazon has a good selection to choose from.

On my R27c the strap would rub on the chines and at the rub rail. I bought some seat belt pads on Amazon that wrap around the strap and secure with Velcro. Problem solved and they look clean.

Good point Tim. I use microfiber pads at any contact point between the straps and the boat to minimize any chafing. We’ve hauled our boats thousands of miles and so far have had no significant issues.

Looked around the Ratchet Straps website. Choice overload, but I did target the "endless loop straps" section. Didn't see any hooks on those. I'll call them tomorrow. Thanks everyone. I'll post a pic of my solution.

I agree with Illusions on tie down with a strap from the bow eyes rearward (two straps one on each side leading aft) to keep the boat from sliding forward if your involved in an accident. I use a 4” strap just aft of the Vberth hatch opening, and another over the cockpit gunnels as far aft as possible. I use 4” ratchet and straps with a ss “J” hook that fits onto the inside of the “I” beam . These are the same straps that truckers use to hold their loads. I use micro cloths as chafe protection and tie wrap them in place so they don’t move. Sometimes duck tape works, but it’s messy after long term use. I have noticed that chafe occurs on the straps, so I am comfortable with the 4” strap over the 2” strap.
Aluminum trailers flex a lot with that in mind pay close attention to your fenders, generally they’re very flimsy and are prone to flexing and soon breaking. If the cracks are not repaired, or replaced you could have a very expensive tire problem Fender comes loose and gets into the tires. 😳
