Well... If you are wondering why I am posting so much with questions, it is because I am using my boat! That is a good thing.

I blew out a tire on my triple axle float on trailer.

What upgraded tires are people using?

Thanks,
Bobby

Goodyear Endurance ( made in USA). Do a search on here and you will find a few posts.

Brian knows what he’s talking about, If I was buying trailer tires that’s what I’d get as well.

Definitely Goodyear Endurance. Figure out what weight rating you need, then go up one level unless you are already at "E" range. Always run the max pressure shown on the sidewalls. Be sure you get new metal 100 psi+ valve stems.

Regardless of brand always keep appropriate tire pressure. Avoid sharp turns. Never hit a curb. Check pressure regularly at each stop and see how pressure compares to the other tires. The Endurance has not been out too long, but even if your treads look good, trailer tires deteriorate from within. Four years and older you may be pushing the limits on a long highway run.

This is a rule to maintain, 4 years. A good Load range E trailer tire SHOULD give you 4 years of service if you maintain the tire. Max air pressure when the boat is on the trailer. Each time you are prepared to tow the boat give a full inspection of the tire. Look for deformities high spots along tread areas. I stop every 200 miles for fuel ,to stretch, inspection of tires, bearings, boat and truck. I would rather find an issue off the highway. I have a tri-axel trailer under my C26 and replaced the tires September 2018 (3 years). The trailer was built in 2015. The trailer manufacture installed an off brand load range D tire. Visually the tires looked perfect but I wanted to put new tires and purchased Endurance Good Year. $950.00 6 tires, mounted and I had all tire/wheel assemblies balanced. When the owner/mechanic unmounted the old tires from the rims I asked him to inspect the tires and I would keep the good ones for future spares. 2 of the 6 he would use 4 of the tires were starting to come apart. I asked him about the Endurance tire longevity. He said to early to tell but they are a step up from the Good Year Marathon which as been used for years with very good performance. I asked how long should they last? His response mirrored what Mike stated, tire pressure, avoid binding turns especially with 3 axels, curbs, and the more they are used helps give the best longevity. He said the problem with trailer tires they sit in one place for long periods of time with wait on the and the tires can get a "set in them" it usually rolls out but in some cases cause the tires to come apart. He said you should get 4 years 10 to 15 thousand miles. Maybe longer but don't be disappointed if you have a failure 5 or 6 yers from now.. I only have approx 4000 miles on them so far so good.

Thanks for the "tire schooling." It really appreciate it!

Keep an eye out for Goodyear store coupons online. I just put 6 Goodyear Endurance tires on for $805.00 out the door so saved about $150.00 compared to their regular pricing. Every little bit helps. Also, as mentioned in other posts make sure to check the dates on the tires so you don’t end up with a set that has been setting on the rack for a year. Only caveat is you have to schedule your mounting Online in advance. Also, you may have to go to a different store if the one near you doesn’t have the room for our trailers (of course you can take them in separately if you want). Keeping the tires out of the sun helps with longevity too.
