In a routine checking of tire pressure on our EZ Loader trailer tires I kept noticing one tire would always lose air, while the others maintained there's. Curious as to why I moved the rubber valve stem to one side and sure enough air came out. While servicing the trailer tires I had the valve stems replaced with ridged stems to hopefully avoid this problem in the future, as we all know properly inflated tires are crucial to safe trailering. I point this out in the event others have tires that seem to lose air pressure for no apparent reason, take a trip to your trailer and test your trailer tire valve stems. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Jim,
I have not had that experience, but good to point that out. The fact that most of our rims are galvanized also makes holding tire pressure difficult because the surfaces are not as smooth as regular rims, hence the seal is not as good. And add to that how they flex when turning corners loosing pressure is inevitable.

Install em wiht 5200. Problems solved

We picked up our new Ranger 25SC in April 2013 and after getting it back to Texas had to replace 2 valve stems. A 50% failure rate is not good. So far, the new stems have held up well. Jim, were ridged or rigid stems the replacement? I assume you meant the latter. If ridged, what are they?

Hi Gregg and Kathy:

I don't know what I was thinking....yes I did mean rigid. I see you're heading to southeast this winter, we'll look forward to seeing you again, this time in Florida at Palm Island.
