When trailering your outboard RT’s n Cutwaters a reasonable distance do you support the outdrive in any way? Does it need support to take pressure off of the transom? Or is it designed in such a way that this is not necessary?

My R-23 came with a pipe that slips over one of the hydraulic rams to hold the weight of the motor.

My 27OB came with 2 of those pipes to put over the rams. Tilt the motor all the way up, put the support pipes over the rams and drop motor back down onto the pipes. Seems to work well, although I have only been towing it for a year and I have put less than 1000 miles on the trailer.

I just towed our R-23 from Miami to Pensacola. I raised the motor and used the motor lock arm mechanism to hold the motor in the up position during transport. I had no issues.
