I would like to check the fluid level. The screw on cap came off easy but the newly exposed area, I suppose the transducer itself, I cannot easily budge. What is the trick?

Can you provide a picture to show the status of the transducer? What you have removed.

I wish I could but I can't. The top piece just pulls off. Looks like a screw cap but it doesn't screw on. Just position it and push down. Are there hidden screws, a locking joint of some kind. I've been all over that thing and can't figure it out.

The issue is, from what I have read, there are at least 3 different ways Ranger mounted Transducers and we would need to know which one you have to help much.

Ethan,

It sounds like you have the older AirMar transducer, if you turn the top of the transducer counterclockwise it will come free and then the same procedure when reinstalling. If there is no cup and looks to be glued into place then there is no fluid used on that style. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Kevin Lamont

Must be one of the old ones. Why the change?
