Who is a good source for Volvo transmission parts now the parts department is being closed down my transmission is stuck in forward gear. So I need shift solenoid for the transmission I also understand there’s shop in the Seattle area knows these transmissions if anybody happens to know the name of the company. I forgot it’s a C28 with the D4 Volvo. Finding anybody knows anything about these drives in the Coeur d’Alene area is tough.

On the D4 in my R31, the Volvo transmission is actually made by ZR. I believe that’s true of all the Volvo Penta inboard diesels, but others can check me on that. If you aren’t under warranty and are otherwise comfortable using ZR parts instead of ZR parts with Volvo’s name on them, an excellent source is Seaboard Marine in Seattle. http://www.Sbmar.com. They know their stuff on these transmissions (they are a dealer and do warranty work). Their website is a rich technical resource as well as a source for parts.

Gini, do you mean ZF Hurth?
This is actually the second time I’ve had one of these solenoids fail and stick me in forward I’ve gotta figure out why I keep having this failure I’ve converted to the new solenoids and now this one failed and I’ve tracked down electrically to the solenoid I will give Seaboard a call Monday and see what they can tell me thanks Gini

The solenoid failure may be due to corrosion from the salt spray from the packing gland when underway.
There are some extensive discussion on TugNuts about this issue.
If that is the cause, also check the two rear motor mounts for corrosion as well.
There are some elegant solutions on the TugNuts archives for minimizing salt spray from the packing gland.
I chose a less elegant, but simple solution of placing an empty one gallon milk jug with some strategic cut outs, over the packing gland.
I also coated the outside of the solenoid plugs with dielectric grease.

Harbor Marine in Everett WA rebuilds these trannys so I assume that have parts. (Harbor Marine Maintenance & Supply). I had my transmission rebuilt there.
Also, Performance Marine, also in Everett very close to Harbor Marine is a certified Volvo dealer. Unsure whether that includes transmission parts?

I did the same on our C28 with a juice container like you said may not be elegant but works great
