I have a Cutwater 30. The cloth bottom of the seat back, of the reversible transom seat, is always wet. This is not from motoring, but from rain. We keep it covered. We air it out in the sun for days with little improvement. It's really quite soaked at the bottom. The seat back is cloth with vinyl vertical stripes. Anyone else experience this and have any suggestions? Thanks.

After removing the cushions I found the fiberglass seat bottom shroud actually ponds water below the bottom cushion. There are no weep holes. The seat back cushion sits all the way down into this ponding, which is why it's so soaked and never dry.
There are some weep holes at the transition of the shroud from horizontal to vertical. But by the time the water reaches this level, the cushion is already sitting in it. I poured water into the shroud and added weep holes at the low spots. The cover works much better protecting from uv than preventing water entry.

In addition to the weep holes, ideally the cushion shape should be adjusted so it doesn't ever sit in the water. There are a number of fasteners holding the seat and hinges, which protrude into the vinyl of the cushions. I had several holes in the vinyl as a result.
