We need to do a full bottom paint job on our R-29, Ladybug, Too. Where should the lift slings be placed and where should blocking be placed on the keel and chines. Painting it on the trailer has proven to be a poor choice. Any pictures of a '29 on the hill??

Pat and Carolyn:

Typically the travel lift slings would go center of your engine and about where your pilothouse chair is, most yards will know and understand this but it's always good to know for sure in the event they do not. To be 100% accurate you might give Andrew, Kenny or Ivan a call at the factory.

When we had our R27 blocked up we had two jack stands at the transom at the flat area of the hull, 2 center of hull and two up on the bow part of the hull.....all of the jack stands were located in areas that needed to be bottom painted and therefore they had to be moved (one at a time) and repositioned to paint under there original positions. We had 2 keel blocks positioned between the bow thruster and about directly below the engine.
