As we trailer our R27 from Michigan out to the San Juan Islands I have found one drawback to owning g a Ranger Tug... Every time we stop for fuel, food, or whatever, we get the same type of response, "What a cool boat", then you have to find a way to politely end the conversation or you'll be there for an hour answering all their questions.

What a Hoot !

It doesn’t stop when you get the boat back in the water. Even though it seems like there a million Ranger Tugs in Washington state and British Columbia, almost every day we are at the dock we get the same “It’s so cute!” response from folks walking by the boat. The only way to get some peace is to anchor out!

Same thing if you stay in Michigan. 😀

We were bringing our brand new R-23 back to NC from Pensacola where we purchased her. We pulled off the interstate to get to our hotel. A guy followed us off the interstate, pulled up next to us, and wanted to ask about our boat. We figured he was going somewhere nearby, too, but no - he pulled off when we did so he could ask us about our Ranger Tug. Then he got back on the interstate and continued on his way. First of many interactions like that.

We stopped at a rest stop one time, parked in front of a tour bus. Upon return to the parking lot there had to be about 20 people standing around the boat talking about it. I worked my up to the group and jokingly asked if they were thinking of stealing her…which got a lot of laughs, some I think were serious. Then the conversation turned to where’s it made, what kind of engine, etc., etc.

Here on the east coast it happens to me all the time. My wife commented its like having the cutest dog at the dog park that everyone wants to see and pet. GF
