Does anyone know of a school that teaches boat training on a Ranger Tug? I'm considering buying a Ranger Tug, but I want/need my partner to take training and I would like to make sure she will be comfortable on a R-29 or R-31. Kill two birds with one stone, get her some training and make sure she likes the RT as much as I do. Location is not important. Northwest, Great Lakes, Florida, etc. Thanks

Hello Phish,

WELCOME to the Tugnuts!

I've read somewhere that training is available maybe arranged through the factory...perhaps part of the factory delivery "experience"? Try calling the factory ((253) 839-5213).

You might consider chartering a Ranger Tug. My R29, Serendipity, is in charter service with Anacortes Yacht Charters. They will go over all the systems with you, and do a check ride as part of the normal charter. They also offer training for an additional fee, but the boat is so easy to handle that anyone with boating experience should be okay. A four day or longer charter would give you plenty of time to decide if it's the right boat for you and your partner. It's also one of the best cruising areas in the world! The Ranger Tug factory is close by as well, so you could drop in and talk to the staff there. (I recommend calling first to make sure someone can show you around.)
