Greetings-

Curious to hear if any of you have experienced a bent trim tab plate.......my diver cleaning the waterline and replacing zincs the other day indicated my port trim tab plate was bent.....he was able to bend the plate back in position.....I do not recall hitting any object when underway....I dock on the starboard side...thought the hull pressure would push any object away from the undercarriage of the swim platform?

Could it have been a big river otter hanging around the swim platform trying to climb aboard and banged into the trim tab plate???

Which way was the trim tab bent ? Up or down ? If you ran over an object which hit the tab I would think the tab to either side of the piston attachment point would have been bent upwards or at least a part of it bent upwards.

Bent my starboard tab last year on a submerged log. Ordered a new one from Richard at the factory. Easy to replace. Only needed the plate itself. Just unbolt the strut from the plate and there is a small tab to bend up on the hinge edge to slide the plate out. Bout a 10 min job on the trailer.

Someone give red fury a bump... 😀

Good grief! My system was locking up last night..... sorry for the repeated post. Any idea how to delete a post?

What side of the trim cylinder is the tab plane bent? The side closes to the thruster inboard side? Last summer I looked at the tab planes on a R 25 at the marina I launch at (Ranger Dealer location) and noticed the cylinder is not centered on the tab. I had never seen that done or at least noticed that before. It appeared that the swim platform support was in the location of where the cylinder needed to be. I thought that the unbalance of support may cause the trim plane to bend down from force of the thruster. The plane on the boat I was looking at was bent, but it was bent up possibly from hitting something or uneven forces because of the cylinder location. The location of the cylinder does not evenly support the plane. The plane was not bent badly but was bent (port side) and starboard was straight.
