Took delivery of my 27 Ranger tug two weeks ago, and I'm unable to open portside front window. All other windows are operating properly

I had the same problem with the same window. My solution was to gently pry it away from the front of the frame with a big screwdriver against the latch and frame while holding the latch open. Emphasis on gently. I believe the problem is that the bottom front edge of the glass isn't radiused enough, and it jams in the frame. After a few cycles, now it works just fine. Just be sure not to slam it shut. Hope this helps!

Sometimes pushing forward while presing on the latch helps. Then pull back. After that apply dry lubricant. Using a wet solution attracts dust, sand and salt.

Hello,

Without knowing the year I would assume you have a classic R27 with a sticky window as the new R27 has a different style that doesn't seem to get stuck. Like the above post, pushing forward on the window while holding the latch unlocked sometimes help to then pull back to open. Some will clean the seal and add some dry lube to the track and seal. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

The sliding windows on the classic R27s are a bitch when they stick. To solve your immediate problem, try the window lube linked below and then pry at the latch with a 1”x2” piece of wood about a foot long for gentle leverage.

My long term solution is to keep the tracks clean and lubricate with this:

When closing the window, after closing it fully, pull the window back slightly with the handle so the latch catches on the window frame. Then when opening the window, push forward slightly to break the seal around the window and pull it open. That’s worked for me for four years.
