Has anyone done this? Just looking to see how you have done it with the limited transom space on the 21EC. Also, has anyone lit up their surrey top inside? I have run LED's through the piping and its pretty great at night, just wondering if anyone else had anything like that to show.

Thanks!

We didn't install our underwater lights, Ranger Tugs did that for us. They installed the lights on top of the trim tabs. It looks super cool!

There is a company called Hurley they make lights that mount on the trim tabs. They are made to fit the screw pattern of the Bennit Tabs I got some a few years ago and am very happy with them. Being on the trim tabs you can direct them towards the bottom or the surface. If you talk to them on the phone they will advise you the best color for the water you travel in

Thanks but that won't work on the 21EC,...... No Tabs!

They make one that goes in the drain plug... But our plugs don't come out the rear like other boats.. 🙂 The smart move is to ask the factory what they use... I can tell you the lights add endless amounts of entertainment at night with all that you see and attract . I was not aware there were no tabs on the 21..... I guess you do not reach the water ski speeds we do 🙂
Good luck with the lights there are tons out there to choose from .

We installed surface mount Lumishore led lights on our R29. Love them and they were only about 250 each. Very easy to install and only a small hole to drill. We are space limited as well back there, but I am sure they would fit.

Thanks..... but none of these will work on the 21EC. I am trying to find a thin but high quality light with at least 600-650 lumens that will mount at the bottom of the transom. Very tough!

Hello U,

The Lumishore lights linked above are approx 1000 lumens...why won't they work?

Their webpage says only ¼" hole req'd for cable pass-through. Other than cost...what's not to like?

They seem like great lights, but they would have to be mounted on the underside of the transom and not on the transom facing to the rear. I just don't think they would provide much light that way. The wetted surface of the actual transom below the water line is about an 1.5"
