I own a 6BY 260 Yanmar 2009 Diesel engine. My problem is that after running at high RPM, 3K and then throttleling down to 3 or 4 mph the engine alarm goes off. If I shut off engine and wait and then restart it is usually OK. I have spent lots of money with no success: checked oil sender, checked oil pump checked temp and it is all normal. I have read where other owners have had similar problems. Any suggestions?

On my Mainship before my Cutwater, had the 6LPA 315, tranny sensor was the issue, same problem. Sensor is right on top of the tranny. Disconnect it and see if that stops the alarm. If it does, then it's the sensor.

I had similar once with our 4by2-180, dropping the RPMs rapidly triggered a low oil pressure alarm. Slowing down more gradually after that, I did not have a repeat.
