I have not had to use pumpout on my boat yet. Will I need a universal pumpout fitting or will it work without?

thanks,

If you are pumping out at most salt water marinas in Washington state or in BC, they use a tapered rubber end that will fit your waste port. No other adapter is needed.
Here’s an example that has a rubber tapered end with a rubber cap to minimize spillage

If you are at a fresh water marina they may only have a banjo fitting on the end of the pump out hose that needs an adapter.
See my earlier post on how to make an pump out adapter to fit a banjo fitting.

I highly recommend getting an adapter that screws into your boat. You can get one free at many marinas or contact Aaron Barnett, pumpouts@uw.edu. The tapered nozzles will work fine, but one shift of your boat or your arm will result in a messy situation (don't ask how I know).

You can buy something like this: https://www.fisheriessupply.com/sealand ... ut-adapter

I haven't pumped out my Tug yet either (our marina will do it slipside for $25), but on prior boats I never had an adapter, and never had a spill either... But I suppose putting that in a forum post is probably tempting fate

Here is what I use on my 31CB — works great!
