Update on 2008 cummins stops running without warning!!

(see original posting, same title Feb 08, 2016) I checked many of the suggestions that were given but so far haven't found anything that seems to be the likely cause of the sudden shut down. I had to install an inspection panel in order to get to the fuel pick tube in the tank, however it appears that the pick up tube has a weighted end on it and will not come thru the opening after it is unscrewed. There is a larger fitting that the tube screws into, but I am reluctant to unscrew it because I am not sure I could get it back in place. Does anyone have any experience in removing this tube? Any help in this area will surely be appreciated. By the way, a Cummins technician is coming next week to put diagnostic equipment on the engine to find out if he can find an electronic problem. My sailboat auxiliary did that, but it was easily traced to bad diesel plugging up the filters. Replaced the filters, washed the diesel, and bio poisoned the fuel and never had another problem.
