Use fuses only for dashboard buttons?

I noticed that the dashboard buttons on my 2017 R-23 have both a 10A breaker on the actual button panel and are connected to a fuse box with appropriate sized fuses for each device/wire size.

Is there any reason to keep the 10A breakers? Could I replace the current button panels with a new panel that does not have breakers? It would be a lot less expensive! 😀

Alternatively, if I used a new button panel that has breakers, could I remove the fuse boxes? Though that would require replacing wires and sizing each breaker appropriately, a lot of effort/cost/time.

I'm new to boat electronics, though I've done a lot of non-boat electronics, if there's a reason for using both circuit breakers and fuses together I'm happy to learn about it.

Thanks!

Hello Jason,

The breakers on the top of each switch are for each individual system and the fuse protects the entire panel.

Thanks,
-Kenny
