Andrew, Thank you for directing me to the service manual for my R-25. It confirmed what I had already decided must be done to remove the secondary fuel filter from the 110 HP Yanmar.
Now for my question. You pointed out that an order form for parts was now available and I found it. Unfortunately I am not sure how to complete it. I note that it includes a space for "shipping cost" which I have no way of determining. If I am to send a check for payment for the fuel filters I want to order along with the order i would need to know that. If I am to provide a credit card number to cover the cost of my order the form needs to include blanks for the information that you would require. The alternative would be for you (the supplier) to send an invoice along with the parts for later payment. I need clarification on how to deal with this.

John,

Fill in the form and email it to parts@rangertugs.com
They will ship you the parts along with an invoice.
When you get the parts/invoice, send them a check, or call and give them your credit card information.

I know how this works because I just emailed an order this morning.
I already got an email from them saying the parts would be shipped today, and how to pay them.

They said the "honor system" has been working fine.

Mike

Thank You. I suspected that might be the case but thought it was best to ask. John Turner

The form is not real clear but I have ordered parts at least 3 times & Ranger's process is very easy informal. They will just send the parts with a bill and trust you to pay. Their shipping costs have been very reasonable. I guess they feel anyone that can affort to buy a tug would not try to "stiff them" for a few bucks. They must not know how bad some of us had to go in debt to pay for our boats. My take is that this effort is a "good will" effort by Ranger to support the owners. I doubt they can cover their administrative/overhead costs by offering this parts service considering the small volumn sales. However, it can be difficult to find parts elsewhere. There are other available sources for some parts which Ranger does not offer which various members have found so you can do a search of our site fo rmore info.
