Hi All,

While there certanily are key differences, it occured to me that a used C-dory C-22 could do many of the things one would want to do with the R-23.

Not saying they are equals, (very different boats) just seems to me that, depending on application and budget, a $40K nice used C-22 might fit the bill while one saved for an R23.

You all's thoughts on the ccomparison?

I had a 22 C-dory and although I have not had the opportunity to be on an R-23 there are definite differences and it is all about what one wants in comfort of space and ride. As safe as the C-dory is I wouldn't have cruised in some of the waters I have been in on my R-27. Any type of chop and the C-dory has considerable bounce. The interior is bare bones. I think it is comparing apples and oranges. If you want a boat that you can hose down inside and out and go in shallow waters and go up on the beach, a C-dory may fit the bill. I think the R-23 is more for comfort and rougher waters. There is a hat for every head.
