Gonna be in a lighted boat parade and I was thinking of using the outlets to power the lights. Realized that I would have to have the Gen. going to power the outlets. The lights are all LED so won't use much power.
Is it alright to have the Gen running while moving? Since the engine enables DC power and is isolated from the AC, it seems to me no problem but I'm no expert on this stuff.

Yep not a problem at all. We use the Mase and the A/C while underway when the temperature get a little warm, just make sure the battery charger is turned off.

You may also considering not going fast, as that may cause suction that will prevent cooling water from entering the inlet. HTH, Gary

If you have an inverter and you are powering LED, that is also a possibility. With the engine running the batteries will be getting a good charge.

We run our generator while underway quite frequently- specifically when it’s hot and we want AC. Even at planing speed we’ve never had an issue. That being said, your inverter will power the outlets too which might be all the power you need.

Not going fast! With a yanmar 110hp, my top speed is about 10-11 knots 🙂
