Using phone to control webasto FCF air con

2020 R27 OB—I wanted to be able to turn on the AC remotely, with my phone. I couldn’t find any native Webasto options for adding Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to an air conditioner.

The app had a preprogrammed profile for my webasto fcf (screenshot below). The app also layers on a bunch of smart programming options using the controller’s temp and humidity sensors.

My installation was super easy and 100% reversible— I put a 12v socket to usb plug in the cave receptacle, plugged in the controller, and stuck it to the bottom of the panel beneath the AC receiver. I press the app, Wifi goes beep.

There are other options, including building your own w arduino etc, using bluetooth only, but sharing this one cuz it worked well for me and required no effort.

Thanks for sharing! The supplied Webasto remote, while seems convenient, must be pointed directly at the FCF control panel to function. Not easy to do when it's "Nap Time" from the berth or while underway without standing on your head and steering with your feet at the helm. ;-) I'll add this to my short list of simple mods.

This is useful. Has anyone tried this upgrade on an R-25 LE? The Webasto control panel is in a very inconvenient spot to reach and I don’t think the boat even came with a remote control for it.
