Using the ice maker on the 2014 R31.

When we started using the ice maker on our 2014 R31 it worked fine for three days and then stopped. The on /off switch at the 120 switch board had not turned off. We pulled it out and followed the wiring down a hole to an area of the four house batteries where we found a three pronged plug, plugged into a 120 Gfi outlet that we just sitting there. We pressed the reset button and the ice maker turned on and made ice for about two hours and then turned off. Our next plan is to attempt to remove the gri and replace it to see if it was faulty. This needs to work and it is the only thing my wife wants to have working for her cold drinks while at shore power. Is there any possibility the ice maker will run while on generator?

Yes, ice maker should run on generator if you don't have too many other things running. If you have 2 AC units, I think you can only run 1 if trying to run ice maker. At least start there.

Icemaker can run on generator or inverter - we use inverter underway.
Sounds like there is leakage if GFI is opening. Take white front cover off and inspect wires and switches. I had to replace as my timer motor froze up, think whole assembly was well under $100.00.

I see you also have a 31. Mine is a 2014. I bought mine last September and have yet to use the inverter. Could you give me a run through? What setting do you put the rotary switch at the bottom of the AC board? Do you then place the Promariner dial in the galley to Inverter and then place the AC panel for the ice maker in the on position?

As to the ice maker: Mine will produce ice into the glass bowl to just about full. I lifted the wire switch to the off position to stop it from making more ice. Thereafter it switches off and basically dies. I preciously throught the problem was the GFI plug into which the icemaker plug is plugged. I place a new GFI and It ran for a while as I preciously described, but then it basically dies. As yet I have worked with it to find the problem. What are your thoughts? My wife likes the ice, so my life would improve if the icemaker works.
