Subject: V-berth privacy for R-23 and new 2018 R-27

For the R-23 there's a unfurled sliding curtain that runs on a ceiling track to encompass a person showering with the head enclosure's door in the full open locked position. This curtain is designed for this purpose but can also be used IMO to provide V-berth privacy with the head enclosure's door closed and with the carefully designed canvas roofing that unfurls to cover the top U-shaped opening of the V-berth entry. This additional privacy aspect for the V-berth is beneficial in my mind and of interest to me for the new 2018 R-27 that does not have this wrap around curtain feature.

It seems to me that a very similar arrangement can be done for the new 2018 R-27 to provided some V-berth privacy when needed. It's a very simply solution to install a curtain track and have the curtain furled on port side of the V-berth entry and the adjacent open faced clothes closet when not needed for privacy. The curtain track would simply have to follow the U-shaped outline of the top opening... (that allows head room space when descending into the V-berth saloon area). 🙂 With this curtain addition the head enclosure's door can still be opened as it hinges on the forward edge and opens into the V-berth area. This IMO would be a very nice addition for the new 2018 R-27 and has to be a very low-cost solution for Ranger Tugs to adopt and install.

I also noticed that the Cutwater 28 has a track mounted curtain in the V-berth to provide privacy when needed presumably. However, its location means only the V-berth proper is hidden from view leaving the head and TV, shelves etc remaining exposed to the cabin.

What I envision for the R-27 is for the curtain to provide a private area for V-berth, head/toilet room with its door open, clothes closet, TV/shelves being accessible while the curtain is drawn. This then allows a person to standup, use the head/toilet room space and get dressed or undressed etc in private.
