Karma would you please post a video or a sequence of you launching/retreiving your dinghy? Would a hardtop like yours be practical on a Ranger 25 or 27? I am about 6 -8 months away from making my choice for a boat to the the
Great Loop.

Greetings - I don't have a video, but I did shoot a sequence of Dave launching the dinghy from the hardtop. Only real difference, aside from reversing the procedure, in the retrieval is the use of block and tackle. He can fill you in on the details.

I just posted the pictures in the album Karma Dinghy Launch in my gallery.

Cheers,

Bruce

Thanks Bruce for posting the pics.Great setup, not only frees up the swim platform but the hardtop provides shade. In your opinion would the Ranger 25 support a similar system?

We have a hardtop on our R-21 Classic installed by the first owner. We keep our kayaks on top of it. I would think any of the Ranger models would handle a hardtop. We just love ours!

First, thanks to Bruce for posting the pic's of launching the Dinghy from the roof. It is really quite easy to do. I have done it a number of times by myself. Maybe at Poulsbo over the fourth Bruce would be kind enough to shoot a video for me......

As for a hard top on a 27 or 25, yes you could have one done. The design would be slightly different due to the bump over the door on the 25 and 27's. I will play around with the design and see what I can come up with (I designed Karma's). We could not imagine not having it now!

Thank you for responding.
The main question I have is would the hard top on a 25 or 27 be long enough for a dinghy to be properly supported?
