Husband changed all our outdoor seating to vinyl which meant just a quick wipe off on dewy mornings. With the fabric cockpit covers we couldn't use the cockpit seating in the early morning due to moisture accumulation. Just had the boat out for seven days in the San Juans in day temps of 70's with a bimini over the entire cockpit. The vinyl still caught some rays but never got too hot to comfortably sit on. Bought the vinyl online from Marine Vinyl. Project done with an old singer 111 sewing machine we bought online for under $100.00. Online tutorials on how to sew boat cushions taught us as we had never done it before. With patience and a weekend, the job turned out really nice.- Nice winter project for those of us on budgets due to wanting to retire early so we can spend more time on the water! I've been dehydrating vegetables, including beans, for our boating trips to save space but still allow for yummy meals. Dried kidney beans, tomatoes and carrots make for a nice start to a minestrone soup!
